The biggest question I get is “What’s this out the window business? Are you throwing your life away?”. The answer: yes and no.

Angelina Jolie???? REALLY????

Not that I’m a huge fan of celebrities. Quite the opposite in fact. I do believe in giving credit where credit is due though and this time Angelina Jolie gets a little. She was describing a tattoo of a window she had on her back. Apparently she needed a tattoo of a window to remind her that she spent her younger days looking out the window and wishing she was “out there”. Later, when she started travelling the world and following her dreams she had the tattoo removed because she said she didn’t need it anymore.

Ok, so that’s a bit lame but it got me thinking. How much of my life had I spent looking out a window. Certainly every single day in school and most days I’d ever spent in an office.

The window in my case was literal but it doesn’t have to be. It is that barrier separating you from what you want. Sometimes the window is clear and sometimes it’s opaque. The important thing though is that you’re not content to observe life from the inside looking out.

A life-hacking experiment

I gave up working to pursue what I love to do. That sounds like a dream come true or a fairytale for a lot of people. The reality of it is a little grittier.

A lot of blogs get written after people succeed at something or have stabilized enough to offer sage advice. This site wants none of that. This is a raw detail of life as it evolves.

I promise that if I figure out how to make this work I’ll write it down here. Maybe people can learn from my experiences.
